Cedar strip canoe

After reading Canoecraft written by Ted Moores, I decided to embark on this journey. It’s been a slow and meticulous process. Lots of self-doubt to begin with. There were many days when I wanted to abandon the project. It occupied a prime space in my shop and my mind for 6 months, consuming me completely. Working through the small details one step at a time , one glue up a day, I made it to the end. Can’t express the joy of it touching water for the first time.

It’s been christened Alif. The first alphabet. Dedicated to my partner Alifia. Cheers to all our paddling adventures together.
